"What a great evening last night was. .......it was a great project to be part of." Laura

"thanks for the lovely time ........and the dream studio" - Joan Gabie

I haven't downloaded the photos yet but some immediate feedback here and yes "God Willing" we will be back next year! Big thank you to everyone involved and Jane and Patrick Lowry...

"The Cross Currents Project at Back Lane West in Redruth has provided me as a community based artist with a rare opportunity to interact with the public at large in the form of a Pop Up street performance...together with 3 other members of our inclusive dance theatre company. The experience was both rewarding in itself and inspiring in terms of what we see is now possible for the future. The performance brought out the best in two of our more vulnerable members and highlighted particular areas that we need to focus on when creating new adventures into the community. The response from the people on the street was overwhelmingly positive and uplifting for all concerned.

From my perspective as an audience member I was absorbed into the collaboration of two improvising musicians, a photographer and a dancer who co-created a space that felt enchanting and timeless.

I was also delighted to be able to spend a day in partnership with one of Shallal's Studio artists exploring sketching techniques on location in the wild west of Cornwall the results of which formed part of the exhibition on the final day of the residency. The artwork on show was of great variety and displayed deep expression of a stunning quality.

All in all...an excellent success and I'm already planning to make myself more available for next years venture into the back lanes of west Redruth" -
Colin
