i came across this lovely film made by Rory https://vimeo.com/108903542 from our first residency, which made me nostalgic and also highlighted how it has all moved on to further experimentation as i await result for this years ACE application for Cross Boundaries this October - a warmer month this year!
Artists at the ready and can't wait.....

One short film has already gained 8.7K views! on Real Stories Channel https://www.facebook.com/RealStoriesChannel/?ref=aymt_homepage_panelwww.facebook.com/RealStoriesChannel/?ref=aymt_homepage_panel
so the digital world can work especially for those of us in remote areas, where travel is often too expensive in time and money for us to be able to share and disseminate our work.

OLIVER RAYMOND BARKER / SUMMER WORKSHOPS
Newlyn Art Gallery / Craftschool
14 August - 16 August
Craftschool is an exhibition and workshop space that explores the art of making, the connection to materials, the sharing of skills and the repair and recycling of objects to extend their functionality. The artists exhibiting in the upper gallery will share the space with a practical workshop for one-hour ‘taster’ classes each morning led by regional makers.

As part of Craftschool I will be leading a range of simple book making workshops:
Monday 14th: make a hand bound sketch book with marbled ink cover.
Tuesday 15th: make a canvas sketchbook with wild wood spine.
Wednesday 16th: make a concertina style book with birch ply cover.

Hourly sessions starting at 10:30, 11:30 & 12:30
For more details see the Newlyn Art Gallery website.

Kestle Barton / Camera Obscura workshops20th & 27th August / 11AM - 4PM

Including: a brief introduction to the Camera Obscura – its history, how it works. Making different kinds of Camera Obscuras such as ‘Telescope’ and ‘Shoebox’ obscuras and exploring the gardens, grounds and structures of Kestle Barton using the new cameras.
