Anna's edit of their photos which we hope to print for Saturday 3rd December Showing 3-6pm Back Lane West, to celebrate the end of the Footprints Residency. There will be a second chance to see the work and some of the cross art form, installations, performance, in the new year 3 - 16 January at Helston Museum Gallery, Private view date and time coming soon!! from George:
"Brilliant sound responsive light projections authored by both Stuart and Eddie! Sweet moments of Music by Eddie n me plus Stuart on guitar for last 20min session..." Shallal Sketchbooks were displayed at Back lane West and lots of R and D was done for the next year. Artist Zoe Wilton joined Victoria and Lou on Monday and unfortunately a large group were unable to come, at the last minute, for Tuesday...i am really looking forward to it rolling out next year, and lots of plans in getting into place for that, new sketchbooks returned and lots to do and look at!
Eddie and Stuart are in with George this morning and tomorrow George is in again with the Collective. Pep, Colin and Kerry bring a ladder, platform ( and mats ) to the space on Saturday morning, to experiment and then Delpha and Nigel join them in the afternoon to add music to the play/occassion! www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXAPOGxOrMQ www.delphahudson.co.uk/sample-page/sound-art-performance-collaboration/ One of the constant things with BLW is the feedback on what a nice space it is to work in, from all disciplines.
So this weekend saw writer Jo Lumber in there, funded by the Doorways project. Her last piece of writing was admired and laughed at, and one of the highlights for many of the audience at Shallal Dance Theatres Godolphin Doorways performance in May. So we wanted to give her time to develop ideas, work with others etc, she started with ideas for installations, physical expression for words, last time we spoke it seems to be heading for embroidery - we never saw that one coming! As with many artists: inspiration then sorting and following threads and who know where that will lead, come to our next Doorways show on Friday 14th July outside and inside Falmouth Library to find out! " productive day at BLW yest. Great to have the blank space, no distractions. I stuck my papers on the wall and made notes- I find the 'outpouring' method works well for me, loads of single words and phrases start to connect and take things in unexpected directions. So... I seem to be creating something about the convalescent homes which PE made specifically for railway workers and also about the Ladies who held fundraising soirees and sewed for the hospitals. Lots of visual/mental links to do with lines, time and pattern; train track, Stitches in both linen garments and operated flesh, timetables, fortnight of convalescence, structured routines. Also, contrasting sounds, sights and smells of the city and countryside. So, actually far less about the nurses I had envisaged! Roger may visit today for some musical improv." Jo Lumber Mel finished with a tea party today and Laura ended last weekend,
