Anna and Annis returned to BLW, this time with George who was getting used to the acoustics and space. Some of their chosen photos below.
I watched the ease with which they direct and give each other suggestions, all the best of playfulness ideas and creativity.

Lots of positive feedback and appreciation from last nights Showing - some photos soon.
Loved it all and lots of ideas flowing around for future developments, a chat needed with artists as well as evaluations.
Already Joan has phoned in to say she had a great first day in the studio and to thank us.
I am looking forward to Monday's Showing 6pm. All work is 'up to the wire' with Colin and Sam off out and about on a sketching jaunt on Monday, I think i overheard lighthouses as a theme.
Photos from Pop Ups by Demelza and who ever of the public was kind enough to take them below and more on FB https://www.facebook.com/ShallalDanceTheatreCompany/

"Zoe and I had a great day (photos attached).
We played with the materials, created a ice queen themed dress on Geraldine, dressed each other up and did a bit of sewing. I have left our creation near the entrance ready for Monday." Laura

Looking forward to being greeted by Geraldine the ice queen on Monday.

"A few from the selection I will get printed for Thursday"...Oli

and a short record/insight of work from Star on https://www.facebook.com/ShallalDanceTheatreCompany

I am so looking forward to Thursday and seeing it all, having heard some of it last week and listened to Star's enthusiasm and feedback.

Today Laura and Zoe spread out in the studio with cloth and ideas and see what happens, and tomorrow is last day of Eddie, Stuart and Jo's collaboration which maybe in Thursdays showing we don't know yet!
On Wednesday Joan arrives, it feels so important especially living in Cornwall to have visitors/guests and spread the work.

true to our ethos to give opportunity and studio space, Joan is married to Neville a full time artist, they have 3 grown up children and she is now able to take more time and space for her own work. I have seen an ink drawing of hers in her sisters home for many years and it is one of my favourites, we are really pleased to welcome her.

As previously mentioned, Zoe and Lou made an intrepid sketching trip to beautiful Mousehole on a day of squalls and gales.  We had a fab time and here are the two drawings that Zoe is most pleased with (will upload Lou's sketches soon).

We met a proper Mousehole Cat, who sat on our laps and sometimes even on our paper, which Zoe has captured here.

Pop ups in Redruth.
Colin and i met and then Demelza came with Joseph and Katie. They exceeded my expectations on how they related to space, public and each other. I had to leave and they continued up the pedestrian street.

Busy day

Lou and Zoe
"had a great day today in Mousehole, it was just warm enough to draw outside on benches in the harbour and Zoe did some fab work with pastels which she is really pleased with.  We got out of the rain into the Ship Inn which was very cozy. "

"Thought you might like this pic of Kerry - we adapted a variety of materials, it was great and we are both looking forward to Monday"....Mel

Laura is back from her exciting 7 week trip so we look forward to seeing her again and hearing all about it. She and Zoe are comparing diaries to try to make time to work together this week.

Lou in on Tuesday hopefully with Sam.

Watch out for Colin and Demelza out and about exploring 'Redruth' pop ups on Wednesday, hopefully joined by Joseph, this will be our first time with a small mobile group and i maybe their photographer!

Zoe Osmond and Star are joining the Studio collaboration on Wednesday afternoon as well, so a nice busy day.

Also on Wednesday Lou and Zoe are out and about in the landscape together!- West Penwith road trip. Zoe often works from photographs so this will be new to work from landscape a practice Lou is familiar with....hoping for dry mild weather.

Dates for Showings are;

Thursday 26th 7.30pm, Cross art form collaborations evening
Monday 30th "Through our Eyes" Visual arts evening time tbc

Lovely day with Anna and Annis and George on 9th,
George's photos on:
http://shallal-arts.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/a-at-blw.html

Yesterday and today in with Sam and Zoe, Peter and Lou and possible visitors.
Toby's drawing in the studio enchanted and captivated us.
Tomorrow is Mel and Kerry....

and later on...
Oli, photographer .....my rough plan is...
I will get into the space the night before and layout a floor exposure. On the day I also plan to try out some experimental exposures with an old half plate camera. Whilst this is happening I will also bring along my plain ol' camera and take a load of shots throughout the day. Some fairly straight to document and some a little more abstract etc.
